Anonymous asked : I loovvve the way you drew the designs on Amethyst's dress and all the pretty designs/lace/tats/ruffles/eyes on the drawings you do and was wondering if there was a book(s) that taught you how to do that? If not, can you pleease make a tutorial since my lace and ruffles are in the state of squiggly lines. :P

1o1o1o1o1o1o1o1o1o1o1:

I have made a tutorial, but that was back in 2012 and its super outdated :’‘‘)

as for inspiration the first thing that got me started drawing ruffles/lace was Chobits! and cardcaptor sakura. Actually just CLAMP in general haha

the tats are basically from looking at a LOT of art nouveau. so much. SO MUCH….. and art deco. The two art forms focus a lot on natural flow and geometric design

what i can say right now is fabric (specifically dresses) are always shaped in a cone. So think of the hem as an undulating cone, folding over and over on itself.

here’s something really REALLY sketchy from ms paint as a visual, i’ll def be doing it better later, because that old tut really needs to be revamped

SO HERE”S A WORKING TEMPLATE OF SORTS!

Anonymous asked : can you do a chibi tutorial thing? I don't really have a chibi style and I wanna figure mine out if it's not too much of a bother if you don't have time it's all good!
